Spotlight: Best Ladies’ Night Deals in Singapore

On Spotlight last week, we’ve covered few of the best places for you ladies to get your drinks going in Singapore, and here are our reviews!

Secret Bistro Bar

Where: 30 Dickson Road

Nearest MRT: Jalan Besar Station

Distance from MRT: 5-minute walk

Free flow cocktail buffet from Mondays to Saturdays.

12pm – 5pm: $10 (Mon & Thurs), $13 (Wed), $15 (Tues & Fri)

6pm – 12am: $19.90

You will be given a little slip of paper that will allow you to choose ingredients & create your own cocktail concoction!

Our Verdict:

Well-hidden away from plain sight, Secret Bistro Bar is a nice place to go if you’re looking to avoid crowds & have proper conversation with your friends. It’s also a different experience, choosing your own cocktail ingredients! They have a generous time-frame for their deals (5 or 6 hours), which makes it very worth the money. Best times to go is on weekdays, you might even find the place absolutely empty like we did!

On the downside, they do not serve food before 6pm. So if you are going there to enjoy the cheapest deal in the daytime, eat before you arrive!

Bar On Chulia

Where: 67 Chulia Street

Nearest MRT: Raffles Place Station

Distance from MRT: 5-minute walk

WEDNESDAYS: Free flow gin & tonic and wine, from 6pm – 7.30pm.

No minimum purchase required.

The alfresco setting without having to be at mercy of the weather. The space had an open air concept, but with a roof to protect our heads. The multiple fans around also ensured we did not get warm. You get the best of both worlds!

Our Verdict:

It’s a great place to go if you want to get drinks without having to pay a single dime. Although their deal only runs for 1.5 hours a week, they don’t require you to buy anything in order to get the drinks free-flow.

Only downside is, the food is rather pricey. We bought a basket of truffle fries for $14.50 that tasted like normal fries. We suggest having your meal before or after having drinks here!

Don’t Tell Mama

Where: 53 Tanjong Pagar Road

Nearest MRT: Tanjong Pagar Station

Distance from MRT: 5-minute walk

WEDNESDAYS, 7pm – 10pm: Unlimited mixed drinks with Rum, Vodka, Gin and Jim Beam base WITH any purchase of food item.

The intimate but Instagram-worthy interior and the interesting Korean-Mexican infused food on the menu!

Our Verdict:

They have food items on the menu for as low as $8, so you have the option to only pay that amount for 3 hours of free-flow drinks and a snack! Not to mention, the prawn tempura and the lotus fries we ordered were delicious.

However, despite the intimate & cozy setting, it can be pretty noisy on ladies’ night, so be prepared not to have the most in-depth conversation with your girlfriends. It’s a place for casual and fun conversation with lots of photo opportunities!

The Exchange

Where: 8 Marina View #01-05, Asia Square Tower

Nearest MRT: Downtown Station

Distance from MRT: 5-minute walk

WEDNESDAYS, 6pm – 10pm: Free-flow martinis, margharitas, Hoegaarden Rose & Vodka with mixers. No minimum purchase required.

The magnificent interior, complete with high ceilings and lavish decor.

Our Verdict:

The Exchange is a good place to go if you’re looking to get drinks in the central area at absolutely zero cost. It’s also nice to put on a fancy outfit and bask in the upscale vibe that the space provides.

However, unlike in the other bars that we visited, you will not be serviced by a waiter at your table. You have to order from the huge bar counter, that is usually swarmed by other people trying to order their own drinks. We had to fight with at least 20 other people for the attention of the only 2 bartenders present. You also will not be able to order a Ladies’ Night drink for your friends. Each lady has to order herself, which was a bit of a hassle when it was just 2 of us there. We had to take turns watching over our table & belongings!

Idle Bar

Where: 50 Princep Street

Nearest MRT: Dhoby Ghaut Station

Distance from MRT: 5-minute walk

THURSDAYS, 5pm – 11pm: Liquid Buffet @ $9.90

(Gin, Vodka, Rum, Whiskey, Bourbon, Beer and flavoured shots)

They have what is probably the longest drinking-window in Singapore for their deal! That’s 6 hours of all the drinks you can take for less than $10!

Our Verdict:

The space is minimalist and simple, nothing fancy. It gave us the vibe of a speakeasy or a hidden bar (it was tucked in behind an alley). They have one of the widest selection of drinks in the deal, so you won’t get bored of the choices too quickly.

If you want to avoid a crowd, try to arrive before 6pm. That is when you’ll find the bar almost empty and you’ll get the enjoy a few hours of peace before the bulk of the crowd arrives, usually around 9pm! Do also be careful about drinking too fast and too much, because they have a strict $100 vomit fine!

So there you have it, the top 5 bars that had the most attractive Ladies’ Night deals in the central area of Singapore! Each bar has their strengths and weaknesses, so it’s a matter of what you and your girlfriends would personally enjoy more.
