FOOD KING: DELIGHTFUL DESSERTS!!

Friday, December 14, 2018

Sweet sweet day everybody! It’s Friday, and that means it’s time for another episode of Food King! And boy, we are excited to bring to you a splendor of sweet, delectable surprise. Yes, we are talking about D-E-S-S-E-R-T-S! But hey, did you know that desserts spelled backwards is STRESS? So to de-stress, we should have some deserts. Leggo!

Right now we are here at Froroll at Tai Thong Crescent. This unique place an artisanal ice cream dessert cafe that aims to bring a refreshing twist to traditional ice cream desserts. And we got to say the desserts here look insane and Instagram-worthy. You can even order a volcano here. Don’t believe? Read on!

Run!! A volcano is about to erupt! Oh wait, it’s just a frozen dark chocolate volcano littered with chunks of yummy brownies and Oreo crumbs. Golly!

Looks cool? There’s more! Crack open the outer volcano shell and you will be greeted with a chocolate lava cake, topped with 2 vanilla ice cream rolls. This is no doubt a pleasantly sweet surprise. Think of this like opening a Kinder Bueno Chocolate Egg, only to reveal another surprise within.

Froroll’s Apple Crumble Waffle comes with vanilla ice-cream rolls on top of a freshly made Classic Belgium waffle that’s warm, fluffy and crispy. If you like waffles, this one’s for you.

Here we have the Churros Waffles and this is the star hands-down. The churros taste really good and goes very well with the ice cream rolls. Speaking of the rolls, there’s cereals mixed into it, giving the hand-made rolls a crunchy bite. So creative!

The ice cream is also not too sweet so it’s pretty well-balanced. Perfect for those of you who doesn’t like your desserts to be overly sweet.

We have come all the way to The Lunch Box/Sweet House located in the bustling financial district. And we will be having some interesting and healthy desserts here. Let’s check them out!

Here we are having this healthy bowl of Peach Gum with Coconut. The reason why this is considered healthy is because of the Peach Gum. This natural and delicious ingredient is generally found in Traditional Chinese Medicines and is rich in amino acid which is good for the body.

This dessert is cool, refreshing and healthy at the same time. Fun fact: This is one of the few places in Singapore that serves Peach Gum. How nice!

Weather’s too humid? Have some coconut to cool your day.

Next we have this grass jelly dessert with mango, served in a coconut bowl. The white and black jelly here are homemade and definitely authentic.

Lastly, we are having the coconut fettuccine with mango in it. It is overall a pretty decent bowl of dessert.

Our last destination bring us this colorful ice cream boutique called Creamery. The special thing about this place is they make their own ice creams from scratch. Awesome!

The Red Devil is one of our favorite here and it’s not hard to see why. This beautiful dessert has a freshly baked red velvet cookie filled with delicious cream cheese lava inside. Now pair this with ice cream drizzled with caramel sauce, you’ve got a winner here.

The Whisky Chocolate Lava Cookie is for all you whisky lovers out there. There’s the brownie cookie with Chocolate Couverture and Johnnie Walker Whisky lava filling and a scoop of ice cream. We are drunk in sweetness already!

Finally, we have the Cranberry Mocha Lava cookie with Mellower coffee beans and chocolate couverture lava filling and a scoop of ice cream. What a perfect match!
